He who forms the mountains,
who creates the wind,
and who reveals his thoughts to mankind,
who turns dawn to darkness,
and treads on the heights of the earth –
the Lord God Almighty is his name.

We had a great time together in May reflecting on how big our God is. We watched this beautiful video and thought about those words ‘The LORD God Almighty is his name.’ He treads on the mountains as if they were sandcastles.

God’s people in Amos’ day had reduced God to a pocket-sized version, one they could worship in a way convenient to them.

We confessed together how we are so prone to do the same. Our Lord God Almighty has revealed his thoughts to mankind. There is only one way sinful little humans can worship him. Through the death of a son in our place – Amos 8:9-10. God’s only Son, Jesus.
