We want everything to be spectacular, for it to be big and showy, and that doesn’t stop when we come to God and his gospel. But when you read the first chapter of 1 Corinthians Paul makes it very clear; at first glance the gospel looks more than unimpressive- Christ crucified, it looks like a failure.
