Meet Abram and Sarai, and their ordinary, settled, but not pain-free life. In this we have the ingredients for a crisis of faith when the call of God intrudes with a huge promise. The crisis of faith is this: will they/won’t they have faith in God? The call seems undesirable, the promise impossible. The call of Jesus on us to follow him is a crisis of faith moment- will we/won’t we believe his way is better and that he’s faithful to his promises?
